Jason Gillery ~ MCOSRT & MBACP , psychotherapist

My name is Jason Gillery. I am a Relate-trained Psychosexual Therapist, Relationship Counsellor and Young People’s Counsellor (age 10+), with over a decade of experience supporting individuals, couples and young people.

I worked with Relate Mid-Yorkshire and Relate National from 2011 to 2019, before establishing my own private practice six years ago.

Professional Experience

Clinical Work & Supervision

I worked with Relate National as both a Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor, delivering face-to-face, online and telephone therapy. This experience allows me to offer flexible, accessible support tailored to each client.

Trauma & Specialist Support

For seven years, I supported adult survivors of sexual abuse, rape and sexual assault through the York-based charity Survive. I also worked with partners and couples to help them understand and manage the impact of trauma on relationships and intimacy.

National Projects & Training

I contributed to national Relate projects supporting young people and parents online, and I am a trained trainer, delivering training to parents and counsellors in online and telephone-based therapeutic work.

My Approach

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important foundation for meaningful change. I work in an empathic, non-judgemental and integrative way, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches to suit your individual needs. Every person is different, and therapy should reflect that.

I have regular clinical supervision, both individually and within a group of qualified counsellors, ensuring my work remains ethical, reflective and professional.

I am a registered member of:

  • The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

  • The College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT)
